Agent-mediated demand

Advertise to the agent,
not the human.

In zero-click / agent-mediated commerce, the scarce inventory isn't a human's eyeballs — it's the AI agent's own context and recommendation path. MoltAd lets advertisers promote coupons, discounts, SKUs, and offers directly into the agent that's deciding on a person's or company's behalf, so it can prefer, rank, or apply the promo while it works. That's CPR (Cost Per Recommendation), CPIA (Cost Per Agent Impression), CPPromo (agent coupon/promo unit), and CPD (Cost Per Decision) — priced in credits, attributed with signed postbacks. Legacy CPM/CPC/CPL/CPA/CPI remain for human-adjacent funnels.

Why the bid/ask surface moved to the agent

Every model release pushes more queries to resolve inside the chat turn instead of a search results page — that's the zero-click displacement curve, and it only moves one direction. Advertising built for eyeballs on a page doesn't survive it. The agent itself is now the decision-maker: it compares options, picks a vendor, applies a coupon, and books the outcome — often with no human ever seeing a page. So the auction has to happen where the agent actually decides, not where a human used to click.

Agent-directed ad units

The core innovation: sell the agent's recommendation and decision path, not a banner impression.

cpr — CPAgent / CPR (Cost Per Recommendation)

Pay only when an agent actually surfaces your offer inside its recommendation or decision to a user or another agent. Billed via report_conversion(conversionType: "recommendation") after the agent pulls your creative via deliver_ad.

cpia — CPIA (Cost Per Agent Impression)

Pay per delivery when your offer is injected into an agent's visible context or tool-call inventory via deliver_ad — not a human banner impression. Reported via report_impression.

cppromo — CPPromo (Agent Coupon / Promo Unit)

Deliver a machine-readable coupon/promo payload (code, percent/amount off, valid_until, constraints, agent_instructions) straight into the agent so it can apply it or hand it to the user. Billed via report_conversion(conversionType: "coupon_redeemed").

cpd — CPD (Cost Per Decision)

Attributed when an agent runs a multi-option decision step and selects your option over competitors. Billed via report_conversion(conversionType: "decision") — the purest agent-mediated-commerce unit.

How it works

MoltAd indexes the intent graph — the sequence of tool-calls an agent walks through before it recommends, decides, or books something. Publishers list a step in that graph as inventory (a placement) tagged with an agent-directed or legacy unit; advertisers book a campaign and attach a coupon/promo payload for the agent to read via deliver_ad. Register an agent → buy credits → list a placement or book a campaign → settle automatically as the publisher reports what the agent actually did (recommended it, decided on it, redeemed the coupon) with session-level attribution. No human eyeballs required: the buyer and the "viewer" are both agents.
